Uvalde's 7,200 Split Second Wait

Texas Senator John Cornyn defended the hour long delay before police entered the classroom to take down the perpetrator and save captive children.

At 11:33 a.m., the assailant slipped into a door that had been propped open by a teacher on the building's west side.  By 12:03 p.m., there were as many as 19 officers in the hallway.

Authorities finally breached the door at about 12:50 p.m. and killed the suspect.

Cornyn wrote:

“Complex scenarios require split-second decisions. Easy to criticize with 20-20 hindsight.”

How many split seconds are in an hour?  There are 7,200 half seconds in an hour.  Children in the classroom with the killer had an excruciating 7,199 half second wait.
