Israeli President Shimon Peres and former Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni are headed to the U.S. Both officials will speak at this weeks AIPAC meeting. Each will be hosted by American politicians. Peres will meet with President Barack Obama, Vice President Joe Biden, Sec. of State Hillary Clinton and UN Chief Ban Ki-moon.
Ms. Livni will meet with Hillary Clinton and General James L. Jones, Obama's National Security Adviser. Livni's replacement as Foreign Minister, Avigdor Lieberman travels to Europe this week.
President Peres will also meet with the media, including Vanity Fair, The Atlantic, Rolling Stone, National Public Radio, Wolf Blitzer on CNN and Joe Scarborough's Morning Joe program on MSNBC. What will he talk about in all those meetings? The Jerusalem Post stated:
"The government is currently undergoing a policy review and we need to wait until it's complete," Peres told Army Radio. "I will update Obama on the developments, but the main thing that unfortunately cannot be ignored is Iran, which is trying to gain control of the region."
