Back to the US...SR

WSJ
reported:

President Trump warned Bruce Springsteen to “keep his mouth shut” until he gets back to the U.S.....S.R.
The U.S. has a long history of music intertwined with politics.  Trump's inane assertions are that the person he defeated for the Presidency paid popular musicians for endorsements, not entertainment (even though they were singing at the events or their production company provided services).

This is from the titular head of the political Red Team that dispenses the richest man in the world to buy elections.  It's a sweepstakes, payment for signature, etc. and perfectly legal according to the Wisconsin Supreme Court.

The other irony is candidate Donald Trump used music without paying.

It will be interesting to see if Trump's top immigration goon meets Springsteen at the airport when he reenters the country.  Will it be the U.S. or U.S.S.R.?  I'm sure Bruce will let us know, unless there's Novichok.

Update 5-21-25:  Springsteen said at the concert:
“In America, they are persecuting people for using their right to free speech and voicing their dissent. This is happening now. In America, the richest men are taking satisfaction in abandoning the world’s poorest children to sickness and death. This is happening now.”
Then he hit on a problem that has been magnified by Trump II, the digital Caligula:
“A majority of our elected representatives have failed to protect the American people from the abuses of an unfit president and a rogue government.”
A majority of our representatives have long chosen the moneyed interest over public will.  Trump is the first President in my lifetime to use all the powers of the federal government to enrich himself and the people he views as his supporters (that can change on a dime).
