Olmert's Reign of Non Peace

Israeli Prime Minister Ehud Olmert attacked Lebanon in 2006 and Gaza in 2008-2009. He was charged with corruption in between. As his term comes to an end, Olmert derided Palestinian leadership. The Jerusalem Post reported:

Days before the expected end of his premiership, Prime Minister Ehud Olmert blasted the Palestinian leadership for lacking the courage to make peace with Israel.

What happened to the secret deal Olmert signed with PA Chair Mahmoud Abbas? Quartet envoy Tony Blair spilled the beans in early December about the agreement. Even with George Mitchell's facilitation, Ehud Olmert, couldn't ink a deal. So Olmert turned Abbas into Yassar Arafat.

Should Israel/U.S. attack Iran's nuclear facilities, carrots and sticks need to be dangled for Gaza, Lebanon and Syria to keep quiet. Israel doesn't want to fight a four front war simultaneously. Peace and $990 million might keep Gaza's remnants from exploding. Lebanese elections could keep Hezbollah in check. Dangling the Golan Heights in front of Syria may mesmerize them.

The corrupt, heavy handed, incompetent reign of Ehud Olmert comes to an end. Goodbye to Israel's George W. Bush.
