Freedom to Use Cluster Bombs

Haaretz reported Israel's use of cluster bombs for the second time, this time in Gaza. In 2006 the Jewish State finished off a month long Lebanese pummeling with scattering tens of thousands of cluster bombs in border towns. That warranted a U.S. wink and a nod.

The Bush administration will inform Congress on Monday that Israel may have violated agreements with the United States when it fired U.S.-supplied cluster munitions into southern Lebanon during its fight with Hezbollah last summer.

What forceful act will the U.S. take in light of the use of cluster bombs in the current conflict? Will George W. Bush pop a hot buttered roll in his mouth and encourage Ehud Olmert to "cut that shit out"? Doubtful. If Gaza is a Lebanon redux, BushCo helped plan the assault. How much violent, heavy handed, hyper-competitive leadership can people endure?
