Gaza Humanitarian Aid Equates to 2.2 Pounds Per Day

Since Israel began pummeling an already besieged Gaza, the humanitarian crisis soared. Food, water and medical care became scarce commodities. The Jerusalem Post noted:

Since the beginning of the operation, 41,937 tons of humanitarian supplies and 2,263,351 liters of fuel have been transferred to the Strip.

Almost forty two thousand tons, it sounds like a huge amount until one does the math. It supports 1.5 million people for 25 days. That equates to 2.2 pounds per day, 17.6 ounces of food and an equal amount of water. The crisis continues.
