Israel's Deal with Hamas Involves U.S. Intelligence

The peace agreement between Hamas and Israel goes through Washington. Israeli Foreign Minister Tzipi Livni is flying to the U.S. to sign a deal on preventing arms smuggling. Haaretz reported:

Foreign Ministry Director-General Aaron Abramovich had been in Washington for talks on the agreement, which would intensify intelligence cooperation in efforts to block smuggling routes before the weapons make it to tunnels linking the Sinai Peninsula to the Strip.

Clearly, America is on Israel's side. One could view the Jewish state as the rudder for U.S. foreign policy.
